High-Rigidity Al2O3 Ceramic Stage Components Stiff Alumina Motion Guide Blocks for Precision Positioning Applications

Positioning systems lose accuracy when their structural components bend under load or change dimension with temperature. Our High-Rigidity Al2O3 Ceramic Stage Components are engineered for exactly this problem: alumina offers an elastic modulus roughly three times that of aluminum and about one and a half times that of steel, delivering far less deflection for the same section size, at less than half the weight of steel.

For precision positioning applications the material brings a second critical advantage: a low thermal expansion coefficient about one third that of steel means stages hold their calibrated geometry as the machine warms up. These properties make alumina the material of choice for motion guide blocks, stage tops, air bearing pads and metrology frames where repeatability is everything.
