Custom-Size Al2O3 Ceramic Insulator Discs Customized Alumina Standoff Rods for Electrical Insulation Applications

Electrical insulation applications rarely fit a standard catalog size, which is why we built our production around custom geometry. Our Custom-Size Al2O3 Ceramic Insulator Discs and Standoff Rods are manufactured to the customer drawing in any practical diameter, length and wall configuration, from tiny instrument insulators a few millimeters across to substantial standoff rods for high voltage assemblies.

Because the parts are pressed, extruded or isostatically formed and then machined in the fired state, we can deliver features that molded insulators cannot offer: threaded ends, cross holes, slots, stepped diameters, tapers and precision ground seating faces. Every order is inspected against the drawing, and dimensional reports are supplied with the parts.

Key Features
  • Made to customer drawing: Any size, shape and tolerance can be manufactured, eliminating the search for a stock insulator that almost fits.
  • High dielectric strength: Consistent 15 kV/mm strength supports reliable insulation in compact assemblies.
  • High temperature rating: Insulation properties remain stable at temperatures where plastics and composites decompose.
  • Machined features: Threads, slots, cross holes and steps are diamond ground after sintering for accuracy.
  • Mechanically robust: Ceramic discs and rods support conductors and bus bars without creep or deformation.
  • Tracking resistant: Inorganic surface will not carbonize under partial discharge, preventing insulation failure.
  • Flexible volumes: Prototype quantities through high volume production with consistent quality control.

Applications

These insulators serve electrical insulation applications including transformer bushings, switchgear support insulators, capacitor insulators, heating element supports, high voltage feedthroughs, electrostatic precipitator insulators, electric motor components and customized laboratory insulation fixtures.

Design engineers are welcome to submit drawings in any format; our team reviews the design for manufacturability and suggests geometry adjustments that reduce cost without compromising electrical performance.

Packaging & Quality Assurance

Discs and rods are separated with foam dividers and packed in cartons sized to prevent movement and edge damage during shipping.

All parts are measured against the drawing before packing and a dimensional inspection report accompanies each delivery.
