Reducing Maintenance Frequency and Downtime — Wear-Resistant Silicon Nitride Ceramic Nozzles Greatly Improve Service Life
2025-07-17
In paper-making and sandblasting industries, customers often face rapid nozzle wear and frequent replacements, causing costly downtime. Conventional metal nozzles erode quickly under high-pressure, high-velocity fluids and abrasive slurries.
Silicon nitride ceramic nozzles offer a robust solution. Manufactured by hot-press sintering of fine Si₃N₄ powder, they achieve hardness above HRA 93 and wear resistance over eight times greater than stainless steel. The smooth, dense surface minimizes friction and prevents clogging during operation.
These nozzles also resist chemical corrosion from pulp, acids, and alkaline liquids, providing over one year of continuous service life compared to just a few months for metal types.
Users report lower spare-part costs, fewer maintenance interruptions, and improved dewatering and spray efficiency. As a result, production lines maintain higher consistency and reduced energy consumption.
